Halloween is coming up. It is the season for candles, pumpkins and trick or treating. And time again to dazzle the crowd with a cool, nifty costume. But coming up with the same witch, vampire or fairy outfit is just plain boring. For this Halloween, pick up a sure winner and bag the Best Costume prize this time. 1. Choosing a costume or theme base on your interest - Are you into sports? Are you a fan of a particular player or team? Do you love movies or TV shows or do you go gaga over Japanese anime shows? Your interest is a good basis for coming up with a costume or theme for Halloween. It is hard to raise any enthusiasm for things that isn't your hobby or you do not know anything about. If your chosen character is not easily recognizable or famous, perhaps a line of introduction maybe needed. 2. Picking the outfit – The objective is to be as original as possible. You don't want to go to a Halloween party wearing the same vampire or The Ring's Samara outfit like two or more others. The more unique and unusual, the better. But make sure your outfit is warm enough to wear. And if you are going to someplace crowded, you should choose an outfit that is not heavy, that will easily tear or make moving difficult. So don't go for bulky, unwieldy costumes. 3. Acquiring the costume – The best way is to get it ahead of the crowd, of course. You want to have the best of the pick, right? If you are no good with a needle, check out many costume stores. Browse over many stores as you can. For cheap costumes, there are many to be had online. Not only the costumes but the props, wigs, and masks that are necessary for your getup are available online. Making your own costume can be fun too. You can let your imagination have full reign. But because you are the one making it doesn't mean that you can just slack off. You don't want to come up with a makeshift and sloppy costume that anybody can tell was done hurriedly and badly. 4. Have fun with props – Toy guns, a bull whip, angel wings, a cape and an audacious hat, a wig and others are the fun props that go well and accentuate the costume you have on. 5. Putting on makeup – Dramatic makeup is important in coming up with a genuine and beautiful portrayal, and helps you get into your character's mood. Decide on how much makeup you should wear, whether you want to paint your whole face or just emphasize an area. You should already have an idea what looks best with your costume. 6. Being the character – They say the clothes make the man. But not in this occasion. You can't allow the costume to speak for you. Act the part! That is why it is best to portray a character or person you love, so you can have fun becoming your idol for the night! |
