Hard candies could be disastrous for your teeth while chocolate would melt in your mouth which could lessen the risk of having deficiencies for your pearly whites. • The first and original Halloween lanterns were turnips and not pumpkins. Halloween was first practiced by the Irishmen and they were using turnips at that time and not pumpkins. • The second most popular Holiday is Halloween. It is even more popular than Independence Day due to the several activities and festivities that would provide much interest to kids and young adults. However, it is only second in popularity because Christmas holiday occupies the first spot. • Ninety nine percent of the pumpkins being sold are used for Halloween lanterns and decorations. This only shows on how popular Jack-O-Lanterns have become. Pumpkins have made people creative in making decorations and lanterns for such a Holiday. • The traditional colors for Halloween are black and orange. The black color symbolizes death and darkness while the orange color would often be associated with prosperity. • The famous magician and daredevil named Harry Houdini died during Halloween on 1926. • There are around 100 million potential people that would practice trick or treat per year in the US alone. This statistic would only show how popular the practice trick or treat is in America. • More than eighty percent of the Americans would decorate their homes during Halloween. • The celebration of Halloween can be dated back 2,000 years ago. It was first practiced by the Celts and was later introduced by the Irishmen to the US and to the rest of the world. • The first Halloween in America happened in 1921 in Minnesota. • We often give credit to the Irishmen for inventing Halloween; however the Celts were the first to actually practice Halloween. |
