Costumes are fun; costumes are ideal for both kids and adults alike. But there's always that whole thing that puts off all that fun you have set out for your kid and your costume. One of the most common let downs with costumes is that someone else might actually have the same exact costume as your kid has. One way to make sure that never happens to your kid is by modifying his or her costume every now and then. Now, you might think that modifying your kid's costume might ruin it, but if you improvise well enough, you're actually going to enhance his or her costume. Here are a few awesome ways to try and modify your kid's costume. 1. Give your kid's costume his or her own personal touch. If you have a kid that's dressed as something like a ladybug or a policeman, you really don't need to follow a certain “costume standard” like as if there's some procedure or design that you must strictly need to follow. Luckily, this isn't the thing when it comes to costumes. In fact, you can modify all you want whether you want to ruin it or make it better. By customizing your kid's costume, this will help eliminate the possibility of some other kid actually having the same exact costume as your kid does. Adding your own personal touch to it like putting some extra Swarovski crystals, or adding on a pair of handcuffs to make it seem more real would be great ways to modify your kid's costume. There are endless possibilities of customizing and modifying costumes to give it your own personal touch. 2. Remove whatever part of your kid's costume that he thinks is useless or cramps its style. What if you had a batman costume that had a third horn somewhere on its head? That would be a really embarrassing thing if someone else saw someone wearing a batman costume that's got an extra horn. Some flaws and mistakes in costumes are sometimes inevitable since after all, it's just a costume. Nothing's perfect, so if you have the time to check out your kid's costume to make sure there isn't anything out of whack, that'll definitely help out a lot. 3. Add on some accessories if you feel like his costume needs it. Terminators definitely wouldn't look a lot like terminators without a pair of sunglasses on. Even when you're pushing for a look that's right out of the matrix movies. One thing that will make a costume look better is by adding on some accessories that will compliment what your kid is wearing. Think about it, do you think your son would look much like a Jedi if he didn't have boots on together with his Jedi robes? Accessories are just every bit as important as the actual costume. If your kid get's the chance to wear a military uniform as a costume, it wouldn't look much like a cool looking uniform without a hat on, right? |
